5 questions for a language teacher about writing in English

Alice’s friend Ania has started teaching Polish online. Her students are mostly beginners and English is usually their common language too.

So Ania uses English for marketing and organising her lessons.

1. How do you feel about writing in English?
   I don’t feel as comfortable writing English as I do speaking. I’m not sure if my message is clear. I wonder if there’s a better way to say what I mean. And I’m very slow.

2. What’s the hardest thing about writing in English?
   I need to make a professional impression. I can’t make silly mistakes or use old-fashioned expressions.

3. How do you overcome this?
   Christina checks my writing, such as emails, blog posts, newsletters and handouts. She makes corrections but also suggestions. She gives me tips so that next time it’s easier to write and the result is clearer.

4. What are your writing goals?
   To feel as comfortable writing English as speaking.

5. What’s your advice for others who need to write in English?
   Writing coaching works well for me. It’s helping me grow my business and it’s also fun.
